the seed was planted during the pre-assignment, similar to the GTD sweep, I started my Everything Inventory

Components

• Capture Tool - good ole fashioned pocket pad, nothing fancy, works well with a commitment to empty it at the end of the day with an opportunity to empty it mid-day before lunch.
• iPhone - primary means of carrying my Calendar of Occasions with me
• Vivid Display (edit) - committed to use Google services, API available to fulfill on vision for MC-oriented interface!

      1. Not Doing Now list - reviewed daily for opportunity to schedule NOW (window 2-3 weeks)
      2. Never Doing Now list - not as long as i anticipated (funny how my mind likes to envision complexity when it's not)
      3. Agendas
         • autofiltered version - print out every so often (NOTE: now defunct)
         • see Ta-da Lists with "@" for current set of agendas. intent: always handy on my iPhone
      4. Relevant Information System - electronic only for now, need to see how files/folders fit into the picture...
    • extra registers (technically not part of Vivid Display as a distinction)
      1. Doing Now list - maps directly to occasions on calendar - a simple list
      2. insights - by distinction
      3. reoccurring - list of reoccurring occasions not scheduled individually but rather "batched" as a single occasion (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly) (src)

Secondary

I do not consider these components a primary part of my Mission Control system.

• Facebook - how I interface my community online. Is is quickly becoming a replacement for email, instant messaging, and forums.
• email - fact of the matter, the vast majority of the world uses email. Haven't implemented the Mission Control way of processing email as I don't make a point to empty my inbox anymore - almost all "chatter" (personal, business, or family) has moved to facebook where I feel it belongs!
• monthly calendar - backup of "critical" appointments - originally started because I bricked my iPhone just before NYE 2008!

Vision

• it is inevitable Google applications will be integrated into Facebook - a Mission Control application is a next step toward making your everyday occasions and accomplishments show up in your social network :)
