Meeting Place
environment makes a big difference esp in the bootstrap phase. it's ok to go back to workin in the "garage" but every so often, ya need a bit of a spark :)
Bug & Bee
- nice open, artistic space (don't dark & dingy like Coffee Society)
- lots of big tables (with plugs)
- pleasing menu on the breakfast side (7am fodder)
- pleasing drinks menu (kiwi & spirulina works!)
- nice soft music
- GRIPE: 2nd floor AC noisy (sit somewhere else)
- free WiFi
- friendly staff
Coffee Society
Coffee Society has a good "startup" feel to it but it seems time for a change...
what works
- startup feel to it
- 24/7
- free WiFi
- owner, John, is friendly
- clean bathroom
- art on 3rd floor (thx Kay!)
- AC on 3rd floor works great
- lots of outlets for laptops
- inexpensive menu (relatively)
- close to MRT/BTS (in fact, halfway between allows for easy access for large # of people)
- park at Dusit
what doesn't work
- hazard for tall people
- 3rd floor may be difficult to find
- kitchen slow
- coffee/drinks just ok
- 2nd floor is dark
- 1st floor tables too small
- menu limited for "good" items
- yelling from 3rd floor (service)
- one staff member didn't get intention to open up 3rd floor, was told to "turn on AC myself"
