Meeting Place

environment makes a big difference esp in the bootstrap phase. it's ok to go back to workin in the "garage" but every so often, ya need a bit of a spark :)

Bug & Bee

  1. nice open, artistic space (don't dark & dingy like Coffee Society)
  2. lots of big tables (with plugs)
  3. pleasing menu on the breakfast side (7am fodder)
  4. pleasing drinks menu (kiwi & spirulina works!)
  5. nice soft music
  6. GRIPE: 2nd floor AC noisy (sit somewhere else)
  7. free WiFi
  8. friendly staff

Coffee Society

Coffee Society has a good "startup" feel to it but it seems time for a change...

what works

  1. startup feel to it
  2. 24/7
  3. free WiFi
  4. owner, John, is friendly
  5. clean bathroom
  6. art on 3rd floor (thx Kay!)
  7. AC on 3rd floor works great
  8. lots of outlets for laptops
  9. inexpensive menu (relatively)
  10. close to MRT/BTS (in fact, halfway between allows for easy access for large # of people)
  11. park at Dusit

what doesn't work

  1. hazard for tall people
  2. 3rd floor may be difficult to find
  3. kitchen slow
  4. coffee/drinks just ok
  5. 2nd floor is dark
  6. 1st floor tables too small
  7. menu limited for "good" items
  8. yelling from 3rd floor (service)
  9. one staff member didn't get intention to open up 3rd floor, was told to "turn on AC myself"
