ok - i keep losing my head over this reference - here it is!

http://groups.yahoo.com/myprefs

the benefit is you can send email from a different email to the group (ie. as I am doing right now) and it will not bounce.

said another way...

one hidden feature in Yahoo! Groups is the ability to create email aliases for each of your email addresses registered for your groups - no more bounced messages because you happened to send an email from a different email address! this often happens when you use a mobile device or use the default send from address on your mail client which is different than the one you registered.

Why Yahoo! Groups?

surprisingly, I do find Yahoo! Groups more stable and usable than Google Groups - slight disappointment as I was hoping to centralize on one service (outside of Facebook) mailing-list wise and Google Groups will clearly transition its current ability to create Pages to full blown wikis (they acquired Jot and will integrate Google Documents no doubt)

when this day comes - all hell will break loose ;)
