Google Spreadsheets
spreadsheets have come a LONG way - they used to be abymsmally slow 2 years ago and now they are quite functional and features are coming in at a rapid clip!
I recommend using spreadsheet for organizing requirements and/or table-oriented information. I particularly can help anyone use a spreadsheet to help with decision making.

- AutoFilter function - very *simple* picklist method for querying
- search box - umm...hello?!? this is Google!
- automatically synchronizes document set/store offline (goes for "word" docs too) (can this be written via API?)
