I've been a Firefox user ever since I discovered it was an alternative to Internet Explorer (back in my
Windows days!)
When I was introduced to
Mac OS X, I experimented with
Camino for while - I saw some obvious speed improvements.
Then
Flock came out dubbed a "social web browser" and was pretty impressed with how they did the media bar, integrated bookmarking with social sites, and in particular, integrated
facebook
The novelty wore off as
Apple plowed forward to create the fastest web browser in the world and when Safari 3.x came out, I decided to put Firefox down for awhile and just give Safari a shot.
I poke back into Firefox now and then - I get a chance to really see what I miss and quite frankly - it's not too too much but then again, I'm not completely satisfied with how Safari handles tabs and new windows in tabs and whatnot - it seemed to be a hell of a lot more predictable on Firefox - so i have to give these folks some credit!
Troubleshooting
if your Firefox is acting really screwy and you can bear with starting with a new profile (ie. saved passwords lost, new cookies, etc) - then just use the profile manager to delete your profile and create a new one.
- official Profile Manager page - use this page to learn how to start your profile manager on your system. There are explicit instructions in regards to how to delete profiles too.
- location of profiles
- Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles
