wow - absolutely dizzying how many calendar solutions are out there - it's like the holy grail!

• Google Calendar
• Plaxo (contact sync works really great and has been a lifesaver on a h/w failure and a Windoze to Mac OS X transition!)
• Upcoming (reportedly abandoned by diehard facebook users)
• Meetup (purchased by eBay) (don't like its paid model)
• facebook
• evite (pioneer in this space and admittedly works well!)
• craigslist (never used its calendar feature, popular for things on the market like rooms and used stuff)
